Thomas Kinch, tenor

Having been brought up and educated in South Wales, Thomas commenced studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2011 with a major scholarship. In 2012 he was chosen by RCS to represent the Conservatoire in the Junior Ferrier Competition. Since then he has achieved ‘excellent’ gradings in each performance.  During his time at RCS, Thomas has regularly appeared on stage in both recitals and operas.  He has also undertaken small roles for Dorset Opera, for whom he gave an operatic recital in April 2015 as their Emerging Artist. He has taken part in masterclasses with the renowned British tenor John Treleaven who spoke of him as a ‘major talent with clear international potential’.  He also sang the Verdi Requiem ‘Ingemisco’ for the International Holocaust Memorial Service (2014), attended by dignitaries from all over the world. Since then, Thomas started a Masters cause, where he began work with an opera company called “Opera Bohemia” where he played “Alfredo” in their production of “La Traviata” by Verdi (2016) and im 2017 he appeared as “Nadir” from “Les pêcheurs de perles”. In the summer of 2016, Thomas also reached the semi-finals of the “Debut” competition in Schloss Weikersheim, where despite being the youngest competitor by at least four years, Thomas progressed to the Top 16 out of 500 other seasoned professionals.

Thomas since has been award full scholarship to attend the opera school at royal conservatoire of Scotland where he played both satyavan in savitri and Sam Kaplan in street scene in his first year, both extremely well reviewed.
