Lona Jones,

soprano

 

Lona Jones is a full lyric soprano who began singing as a choral singer for the highly acclaimed chamber choir ‘Amici Del Canto’, with whom she has performed across the UK and Europe. Continuing her enthusiasm for choral music, Lona has also sung with the Welsh National Opera Community Chorus alongside the New Sinfonia Orchestra, performing in world premières such as Rebecca Dale’s ‘Materna Requiem’ at the North Wales International Music Festival.

Lona is now embarking on an operatic solo career under the tutelage of internationally-renowned soprano Anne Williams-King, at the North Wales Opera Studio. Lona’s repertoire and roles include; Susanna (Le Nozze Di Figaro), Papagena (Die Zauberflote), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Fiordiligi (Cosi Fan Tutte).  Recent additions and projects include Liu (Turandot), Mimi (La Bohème) and Suor Dolcina/Suor Genoveffa (Suor Angelica).
