Jake Horler-Newsham, tenor

Jake graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in the summer of 2017. Whilst at the RNCM Jake studied under the tuition of Jeffrey Lawton and Thomas Schulze. Jake performed numerous times with RNCM Opera in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Lehar’s The Merry Widow, as Daniel Buchanan in Weill’s Street Scene as wells as Basilio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro in RNCM Opera Scenes.

Jake also has extensive experience outside of opera having performed in various locations throughout the UK with The Scholars quartet. Other notable performances include as the tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Stainer’s Crucifixion and Bach’s St Matthew Passion. He has considerable experience in choral work throughout the UK and Europe having performed works such as Mozart’s Requiem, Tippett’s A Child of Our Time and Heinrich Schütz’ Exequien.

Jake is now studying under the tuition of Dr Robert Alderson.
