Ione Cumming, soprano

 

Ione started studying singing at London College of music. She later studied at The Cardiff International Academy of voice with Dennis O’Neill and ENO’s Opera works. She has been a finalist at The London Wagner Competition and was awarded a Bayreuth Bursary.  Opera roles include Madama Butterfly (Mediteranean Opera Festival), Donna Anna, Fiordilligi  Clonter Opera; Elisetta (Il Matrimonio Segretto) Barga Festival Opera, Italy; Nedda (Pagliacci) Haddo House; Turandot, Violetta (La Traviata), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) York Opera; Ellen Orford Leeds Youth Opera; Carmen, Hero (Beatrice and Benedict) Fenena (Nabucco)  West Riding Opera. 

 

Concert appearances include: Sieglinde (Die Walkurie) with the London Rehearsal Orchestra, Viva Verdi Concerts for Opera Box, ca.

 

Ione has sung for a variety of concerts including Opera galas, Male voice choirs, cooperate and charity events. Ione has also enjoyed singing with the Opera North Chorus and for their educational workshops. She is delighted to be joining North Wales Opera for the first time in their production of Tosca.
