Eleanor Parsons,
soprano
Winner of the 2015 Somerset Song Competition, the Edward Brookes Lieder Prize and English Song Prize, the Mario Lanza Opera Prize and finalist in the Llangollen International Eisteddfod Voice of the Future, the John Ireland song Prize, the Andrew Downes Prize and the Ambache prize for the performance of music by female composers. Eleanor graduated at Birmingham Conservatoire in 2015, studied at the Guildhall school of music and Drama.
Eleanor performs Oratorio and recitals across the UK, recently performing the Bach St Matthew Passion and B minor Mass, Mendelssohn Elijah, Handel Messiah, Schubert Mass in G, Brahms German Requiem and many other fine works. Eleanor has had the opportunity to perform in a masterclasses with Catherine Foster and Roderick Williams.
Eleanor has travelled internationally to sing in Cyprus, France, and Italy, performing choral works in the Pantheon and St Peters Basilica in the Vatican. Eleanor has made recordings with the St Chads Cathedral Choir and Birmingham Conservatoire Chamber Choir and new music singers Via Nova.
On the stage, Eleanor has performed as Donna Anna Don Giovanni, 1st Lady Magic Flute, Mme Lidoine Dialogues des Carmelites, and many others. She played Mme Larina Eugene Onegin with OPRA Cymru, created the title role of Michael Wolters new opera Avas Wedding, and performed Poulencs La Voix Humaine with Birmingham Conservatoires “Handpicked Orchestra”.
