Soprano Angharad Kathy Davies is a freelance musician specialising in opera and classical singing. Angharad is a graduate of RWCMD where she was awarded and generously supported by the Mosawi Foundation, the Mario Lanza Education Trust, the Mansel Thomas Memorial Award and the Worshipful Company of Wales Music Award. Angharad graduated with Distinction from her Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal Performance in 2017. Angharad currently studies privately with Amanda Roocroft and Michael Pollock.

Angharad’s upcoming engagements include performing the famous Flower Duet from Delibes’ Lakme with the RAF Massed Voluntary Bands in Symphony Hall, Birmingham, appearing as a soloist in Mid Wales Opera’s Summer Opera Gala in Gregynog Hall and performing  the role of Susanna  from The Marriage of Figaro with Somerset Opera.

Other recent performance highlights include performing the role of 1st Witch in Mid Wales Opera’s production of Dido and Aeneas and performing in the Chorus of Tosca as part of the Abu Dhabi Festival with Sir Bryn Terfel, Kristine Opolais, Vittorio Grigolo and Sinfonia Cymru conducted by Gareth Jones. 

Recently, after successful audition, Angharad secured the role of Genevieve in Louis Mander’s opera The Dowager’s Oyster which will be performed at the Cheltenham Playhouse in September 2020, and whose other cast members include George Logan of Hinge & Bracket.

Angharad regularly appears on the concert platform both, in recitals and oratorio as a soloist but also with her chamber music ensembles; Hiraeth Ensemble and Meraki Ensemble. The Meraki Ensemble are Music in Hospitals and Care Artists.
