André Batalha Soares, baritone

André Batalha Soares was born in 1993 in Porto, Portugal. 

 

Started his musical studies at 14 as a flautist but soon discovered that classical singing was his passion. He studied with Joana Godinho from 2010 to 2015 with whom he performed in stage productions of Peter Pan, West Side Story, Cabaret and Sweeney Todd.

 

In 2018, already in the UK, he started his studies with Gary Coward and I'm 2019 joined the Guildhall school of music and drama. 

 

In 2020 André performed as a chorister in the world premiere of Lliam Patterson's The Angel Esmeralda. In 2021, André performed as prison warden Frank in Die Fledermaus as well as Benoit and Alcindoro in a concert performance of La Bohéme.
